This whole memoir was fantastic. I didn't know a lot about James Prince other than the fact that he's an OG, peak dog in the music and boxing industry - only I learned a lot about him and it was enlightening. Ironically, he reminds me a lot of my dad; wise words and so much heart.

This whole memoir was fantastic. I didn't know a lot almost James Prince other than the fact that he'south an OG, top dog in the music and boxing industry - but I learned a lot about him and information technology was enlightening. Ironically, he reminds me a lot of my dad; wise words and so much heart.
I institute this whole book incredibly inspiring and true af. If yous want respect you have to go out there and work for information technology, yous have to earn it and you lot accept to treat people with the aforementioned level of respect they treat you with. That'south how you lot build good relationships. That's how you build a good business.
James Prince had an incredibly good personal story as well; what a time - to grow upwardly for and so many years and be misled about your own male parent until one twenty-four hours you're similar dude, why do all these other people look like me at a family unit part, in your teenage years. It's wild. There's and so much importance behind knowing yourself and where yous came from and the kind of stock you're made up of.
Yous tin tell that James Prince is a legendary wild card besides. I don't know if I really believed the whole "I travelled with my pastor to come across with people" rhetoric etc.. dude! is "pastor" code switching for "he rolls with god, but volition notwithstanding ready if off" considering it sure sounds like it! I respect that he never took the constant attack from the DEA laying down. Sometimes even if information technology seems like something is too big to challenge, you however have to challenge information technology. Specially for the good of all people like y'all, doing what you're doing, from your area. It shows them that they don't accept to take it. Which is disquisitional and can mean life or death. Fight for your life and freedom by any ways necessary. James Prince ain't Malcolm, simply that'due south some Malcolm shit - and fifty-fifty Malcolm wasn't MALCOLM when he first started out.
All in all - this was a v-star memoir by 1 of rap's legendary influencers and sponsors of the culture. I liked the intro by Drake - information technology was a prissy touch and just gear up the tone for the young folks who may non have lived the struggles that James Prince has talked about but likes to act like they have.
Every word here felt authentic. Struggle for what you want. Never take no for an answer. Don't surrender on yourself. felt like the major takeaways. I respect that.

He's a Houston hero, but similar all truthful hero'due south, in that location's no red capes and information technology ain't always pretty scenes with the triumph music playing in the back ground.
When yous irresolute your life and the lives of others it gets ugly and savage. J don't hide any of that in this book. Nice piece of work Prince and Mrs. Waters.

I love the fact that this volume is not a series of boastful anecdotes, simply a truthful breakdown of the trials and tribulations on the road to success. Furthermore, the fact that J. Prince comes from the environment that myself and many others come from shows that with faith, hard work and dedication success is possible. Society may take written him off and even tried to hinder his progress because of the color of his skin and the wealth and power he amassed was and is a beacon to ma

...more thanI grew up in poverty in the hood just like j prince merely non in Houston instead Miami only regardless of what city in America y'all are from poverty is just poverty, it sucks and it is truly depressing ! And to run into how he made information technology out and never forget those still struggling and gave back too many from his neighborhood a second chance at life should be an inspiration for many others.
I gave this book 3 out v stars because in my opinion it wasn't a true biography. It was more like a book filled with major key stories from his life. One minute he's 34 the side by side he's 11 the next he'due south 23. Information technology was more business than personal. And I await more personal in a biography. I will say his faith carried him through and helped him in a lot of business situations. Because he honestly doesn't seem like a skilful business homo. People but fright him.
DecentI gave this book iii out 5 stars because in my opinion it wasn't a true biography. It was more than like a volume filled with major key stories from his life. One minute he's 34 the next he'due south 11 the next he's 23. Information technology was more business than personal. And I expect more than personal in a biography. I volition say his faith carried him through and helped him in a lot of business concern situations. Because he honestly doesn't seem like a good business organization human. People just fear him.
